Today I received the e-mail below from American Family Association and its message immediately stirred a fire within me:  "Get A Bible Into The Hands Of Unbelieving Young People!"  That resonates with me.  So, I am forwarding that e-mail and info from their web site to you - hoping to stir that fire in YOU.

To my young Friends - that Teen Friend YOU share God's Word with today - may be the world's next Billy Graham!   Now, isn't that worth investing your time to give away God's Word?

Why am I so concerned about our young people in the American Public School System today?  Well, there are two key facts which most Americans are not even aware of and do not know the effect they are having on our American children.  What are these facts?  They can be labelled as:  The John Dewey Socialist Effect In Public Education - and - The Homosexual Movement Effect In Public Education.

First, let's look at the effect John Dewey (1859 - 1952) has had on the American Education System.   I would say that Dewey has been the greatest influence on schools and their curriculum in the past one hundred years.   These excerpts will give you a flavor of his socialist influence:

The renowned American philosopher (John Dewey) led a long and prolific life as a writer, teacher, and political activist.  Dewey launched a frontal assault on the traditional school beginning with the publication of his persuasive dual treatise "The School and Society" and "The Child and the Curriculum" in 1899 and 1902.  Dewey's major work "Democracy and Education" (1916) had a Promethean effect on educational theory and practice around the world. .  .  .

Dewey saw the schools of his day as intellectual battlefields between the forces of reaction and enlightenment.  The former fixed their attention solely upon "the importance of the subject matter of the curriculum."   They ignored the contents of the child's own experience. (Bill Gray Note:  Was this the beginning of Relativism, i.e., "if it feels right to you, it is right" in American schools?).  Their studies pretended to reveal a "great wide universe" with "fullness and complexity."  But, the "teaching of external and general truths" only became an opiate for the educator and an obstacle to the real growth and development of the child.

Just as Marx had chosen the end product of the capitalist system, the commodity itself, to begin his analysis of capitalism - Dewey chose the child, the end product of the school, as the starting point of his analysis of education.  From here he launched a revolutionary assault on unprogressive teachers.  His legions inscribed on their banners:

The child is the starting point, the center, and the end.  His development, his growth, is the ideal.  It alone furnishes the standard. To the growth of the child all studies are subservient; they are instruments valued as they serve the needs of growth.  Personality, character, is more than subject matter.  Not knowledge or information, but self realization, is the goal.

The children had nothing to lose but the chains of the curriculum.  Self realization was a worldly transcendence that would remake the child into a perfect model of the new socialist man. .  .  .

Dewey was convinced that the introduction of manual training and the activity method would create a vigorous occupational spirit in the educational process.  The school would affiliate itself with the life of the child and the community.  It would become an embryonic socialist community.  The new school communities would become incubators for peaceful social revolution. 

Dewey saw the new school providing a unique and irresistible example to capitalist society because its aim was "not the economic value of the product but the development of social power and insight."  School, liberated from the religious influences (Bill Gray Note:  We saw the culmination of this in the 1963 Supreme Court ruling which evicted God and prayer from public schools) -- which, like Marx, he regarded as medieval superstitions -- would demonstrate to all that it was neither God nor Providence but the earth and man's labor that were responsible for all progress. .  .  .

Despite his declared abhorrence of revolutionary violence, Dewey was not deterred from accepting an opportunity to visit Stalin's Soviet Union in the summer of 1928.  He went as a member of an unofficial delegation of twenty-five American educators under the sponsorship of the American Society for Cultural Relations with Russia.  (WAS DEWEY A MARXIST? - http://www.stlawrenceinstitute.org/vol13brk.html)

 
Next, let's look at The Homosexual Movement Effect In Public Education.  If it is not already in your public school system - get ready.  For it is coming to a school near you - very soon:

After all, they know if they can capture the hearts and minds of the next generation, they can permanently change the culture.

Take, for instance, what happened to parents in Alameda, California, where the school board brazenly mandated a homosexual-themed curriculum for elementary kids.  It told parents they could not opt their kids out of this teaching — even if it contradicted their most deeply held religious convictions.  Or even if they believed their kids were too young to psychologically handle sexual topics.

The curriculum defined family as “a group of people living together and functioning as a single household.”  First-graders were to be  introduced to this concept through a storybook called "Who’s in a Family?" .  .  .

And if you assume this is just a problem in California, think again.  The nation’s largest homosexual-advocacy group, the Human Rights Campaign, has introduced a homosexual-themed curriculum, "Welcoming Schools" - in elementary classrooms across the land.  It radically redefines the meaning of marriage and family.

The federal government also lists "Welcoming Schools" as a resource – and awarded a five-year grant to GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network) to target 20 school districts nationwide.  (Capturing Children’s Minds:  http://www.truetolerance.org/2011/capturing-childrens-minds/)

 
What can we, parents and grandparents, do to turn the tide of Liberal Socialism which has been flooding America for many decades - and has taken on tsunami proportions in the Obama and Clinton years?   We can continue to strongly share the Word of God.  And, this teen-to-teen Free Bible Movement is a good start - for that is peer-to-peer activity and can be a very effective witnessing tool. 

And, we adults can Vote To Restore Conservative Values in America this November.
