About 25 years ago when Dory and I lived in Orange County, California,
we were privileged to attend a very special concert and fund raiser at
the Calvary Baptist Church in Santa Ana, California.
The purpose: To raise awareness of the Abortion problem in America and around the world.
On the stage that evening was:
1. Dr. David Hocking - Then pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church. And his very special guests that night were:
1. Pat Boone - Known for many, many years as a great Christian - and, by the way, he also sings and is a movie star.
2. Joni Eareckson Tada - Who, as a very athletic teenager had a diving accident in 1967 while swimming. She broke her neck which left her a quadriplegic, paralyzed from the neck down. She has spent her life since then in a wheelchair.
In her 1978 book "A Step Further" Joni tells us, "Today as I look back, I am convinced that the whole ordeal of my paralysis was inspired by God's love. I wasn't the brunt of some cruel divine joke. God had reasons behind my suffering, and learning some of them has made all the difference in the world."
Joni has traveled the world as an evangelical Christian author, radio host, recording artist, and founder of Joni and Friends, an organization "accelerating Christian ministry in the disability community."
3. Gianna Jessen - Survivor of a botched Saline Abortion. What is a Saline Abortion? The abortionist soaks the unborn baby in a saline solution in the womb, intended to burn the baby to death in the mother's womb.
Gianna was supposed to die before she was born, just another one of the 1.2 million abortions each year in the United States. Instead of dying though, Gianna overcame that horrible attempt to end her life - and entered the world two months premature, weighing just two and a half pounds.
The failed abortion left her with cerebral palsy. But she says of the cerebral palsy, “It allows me to really depend on Jesus for everything.” Her web site describes Gianna as a pro-life advocate - speaker - writer - singer - and God’s girl who is living the impossible.
Dory and I really enjoyed that evening 25 years ago, feeling very blessed by God - and very appreciative that our Christian Friends, Don and Juliet Mrla, invited us to attend with them. That evening we heard Joni sing and speak to us about the evilness of abortion. Then she introduced us to Gianna Jessen, Saline Solution Abortion Survivor, who showed us that God not only saved her life - but He left her with a lovely singing voice - which she, then a teenager, used to glorify Him.
One thing which did make me smile that evening was to see Dr. David Hocking, about 6'5" tall - standing next to 5'9" Pat Boone on the stage. Both are very powerful men of God and both are still serving Him today around the world.
That was an evening I will never forget. So tonight when I saw this video of Gianna Jessen on the Mike Huckabee Show, I knew I have to share this with YOU and all of my FRANs (Friends, Relatives, Associates, Neighbors) - and ask YOU to share it with all your FRANs.
This is a powerful story which must be seen by all Americans. Especially those who believe babies should be killed in their mom's womb.
