Responses To: Are "YOU" Concerned About Your America?

Many times I am amused at responses to my blogs and eNewsletters.   The two responses I received from the one I posted just yesterday titled "Are 'YOU' Concerned About Your America?" made me smile.  The first was from a long time Friend and Christian brother, Pastor Ike Riddle, who responded with a resounding one word reaction, "YES!"  

The other was from a man from my hometown area who will receive my eNewsletters, but will not be Friends on Facebook.  He declares himself to be a BLUE all the way, i.e., a Left-leaning Democrat. 

What is funny is that just last evening two long time Friends and Christian brethren, Jun and Rachel Quintans, stopped by to visit with Dory and me.  Knowing I am from Alabama, Jun asked me if Alabama is Democrat or Republican and I told him, "When I was a youth in the 1940s/50s, Alabama was pretty much Democrat.  However today Alabama is mostly Conservative Republican, RED through and through - but like any other part of Conservative America, there will be a sprinkling of BLUE."  

As I told Jun, if we look at a political map of America - you will find Alabama painted a bright RED.

Growing up in Alabama in the 1940s/50s, when I was of age I automatically registered Democrat.  However the day the Democratic Party nominated Lyndon Johnson to be their 1964 Presidential Candidate - that very day I went out and re-registered Republican.  I wanted nothing to do with Lyndon Johnson. 

But I must say this - If Lyndon Johnson was running against today's crop of Democratic politicians, I would vote for Johnson.  For with Johnson the Democratic Party began to sink into the Morals Septic Tank - but Democratic politicians today have taken America below the Morals Septic Tank, delving even deeper into moral decay.

It would appear that this gentleman who responded to my blog - is one of the few BLUE Democrats sprinkled into the glorious Conservative RED horizon in my home state of Alabama.  Keep in mind that this gentleman does not claim to be a Christian believer - but like most atheists and agnostics, wants to tell us what the Bible teaches - and where it, or Christian believers, is wrong.

He begins his response to my "Are 'YOU' Concerned About Your America?" blog:

His Opinion:  So what has all of this have to do with being a Christian?  Did Jesus attempt to stage a coup to overthrow Rome?  Did Jesus spend time plugging holes in borders to keep out foreigners?  Was Jesus worried about the economy?  Did Jesus spend most of his time “apologizing” for the state of human affairs under Roman rule?

Bill Gray Response:  Was Jesus a rebel?  Not in the sense that most people think of rebels - but He did show great emotion and anger.  If you recall Jesus took a rope and used it to drive the moneychangers out of the temple, telling them in John 2:16, ".  .  . Take these things away! Do not make My Father's house a house of merchandise!' "

You ask, "Did Jesus spend most of his time 'apologizing' for the state of human affairs under Roman rule?"  No, Jesus, i.e., God, actually used the Romans and the corrupt Jewish leaders - to fulfill Scripture.  In other words, the horrible human affairs under the Roman and Jewish leaders He used to prove His love for mankind - by sending the Perfect Lamb of God, His Son, as a sacrifice, a "paid in full" atonement for mankind's sin nature.

His Opinion:   Why don’t you get your head out of the ground and spread the Jesus of the Bible who you claim to believe in?  I am tired of hearing about how offended and hurt you and others like you are because you claim just Democrats are supposedly ruining this country?

Bill Gray Response:  Let's both look at the record.  Democrat JIMMY CARTER was the most inept president up to that time, driving the economy down and allowing Americans to be held hostage in the American Embassy in Iran for over a year.  His one attempt to free them ended with American military killed and Iranians laughing at America. 

BILL CLINTON spent so much time playing games with a female intern, then lying about it to the American people - that he had little time to goof up our economy.  But he did gut our military forces and capabilities. 

BARACK OBAMA was the most destructive and anti-American president in history.  He destroyed all progress made by the Civil Rights Movement of Martin Luther King - he further gutted our military - he destroyed our economy - flooded America with Illegal Aliens - and did his best to surrender America's sovereignty to the United Nations. 

And today we have the feeble Old JOE BIDEN, Mistress Cackling Kamala Harris, Granny Pelosi, and Bobble-head Schumer - all doing their best to outdo Obama and be the most destructive administration in history. 

They have done everything within their power to push:  Abortion - Same-Sex Marriage - to flood America with ILLEGALS from all over the world - they have supported their Big Daddy, China, in exporting a deadly virus to America and all the world - they have surrendered America's economy to China and her Communist allies - they have surrendered America's Oil Independence (built by President Trump) to the OPEC nations.  And they have done all that damage in less than one year.    

President Trump had made America's Economy the greatest it had ever been - he had Unemployment at a 50 year low - he had America firmly established as the leading nation of the world - and he finally had China, et al, standing up to the bar to pay their fair share.  In other words, President Trump had America on the road to being the strongest it has ever been in our 245 year history. 

And in his first week in office, Old Joe Biden did everything in his power to destroy all the progress which America had accomplished during the 4 year Trump administration.   

His Opinion:  Why not try and see to it that the poor are comforted by tending to their needs: Hunger, health, education, occupations?

Bill Gray Response:  How did Jesus respond to such questions?  In Matthew 26:6-11 we read, "And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table.  But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, 'Why this waste?  For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor.'   But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, 'Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me.  For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.' "

His Opinion:  Why not try and protect people, including children, from mad men with guns instead of standing behind a misrepresented 2^nd amendment right to support unrestricted gun ownership?  Giving only “Thoughts and Prayers”  to the dead and injured…?

Bill Gray Response:  All the evil of Communism/Socialism/Naziism/Fascism BEGAN with taking guns away from the citizens.  And look what has happened in all those nations.  The most recent one, Venezuela, was for many years the most prosperous nation in South America - until Socialism took control.  Now that nation is less than a 3rd world country - it is almost, if not actually, as bad as North Korea. 

His Opinion:  Right to personal choice and personal truth, while reserving the self-righteous right to choose how other peoples lives are controlled and guided?

Bill Gray Response:  I realize that you put no value in the Bible and what it teaches, but consider this:  In every nation where Judeo/Christian morals, values, and teachings have been removed - socialism, anarchy, and moral decay soon begin to destroy that nation. 

America is strong because it was founded on Judeo/Christian principles 245 years ago - and although the Left has fought to destroy those values - America is still the strongest nation on earth.  The beliefs you espouse are a direct result of the partial moral decay birthed and nurtured by the Left over the past decades.  

His Opinion:  Is the U.S. the best country in the world that God should protect or love it and its obedience to your unsolicited and unsupported dogma more than other countries?

Bill Gray Response:   I will let the Bible speak to that question:

Psalm 33:12, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance."

Jeremiah 17:7, "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,  And whose hope is the LORD."

His Opinion:  What is your supposed “truth” without agape love?  I see none of that in your remarks.  You seem more concerned that your god should condemn and judge those who are not of your opinion.

Bill Gray Response:   I will take these two questions in reverse:  I do not have a "god" - I worship God, the God of the universe, the God of eternity, the one and only God.  Secular folks have many gods - most often beginning with themselves.  But we who believe have only one God.

You ask, "What is your supposed 'truth' without agape love?"   I have to wonder if "agape love" is merely a phrase you have heard other non-believers tossing around - and I have to wonder if you truly know the difference between the kinds of love mentioned in the Bible.  What are the different types of Biblical love:

The first Greek word for “love” is eros, which refers to romantic, lustful, or sexual love. 

The second is storge, which refers to familial love like that of a mother for her baby, or of sibling for one another.

The third Greek word for “love,” philia, refers to friendship and camaraderie.

Then there is the true agape love when we speak of God’s love for the mankind - and the type of love that Christians are taught to emulate.

When the Pharisee asked Jesus about the greatest commandment in Matthew 22:36-39, " 'Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?'  Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like it: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself.""    In this passage we find agape love, for it is speaking of loving God and emulating God's love - the greatest love, agape love.
 
His Opinion:  Shame on you… Shame on you… Shame on you…

Bill Gray Response:   I suppose I can only answer that one way:

Luke 6:22, "Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake."

John 7:7, "The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil."

It seems that when a believer shares the Light of His Gospel - the world's only response can be to call shame down on us.  In the first century in the city of Antioch in Syria believers were first called Christians (Acts 11:26), but it was used as a derogatory name by the secular people of Antioch.  However, quickly the believers made this name a crown of glory - and since then there is nothing the world can call us that is more blessed than "Christian!"

Are "You" Concerned About YOUR America?

ARE "YOU" CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR AMERICA, the America where your children and grandchildren will grow up?   I know that I have great concerns about many aspects of American life under the current anti-American Democratic rule. 

Concerns about Immigration, Open Borders, out of control Economy, declining leadership role in world events, and so many other facets of what before was a stable America under Conservative leadership.

Would you and your family go to sea in a ship with many holes in a porous hull where sea water openly flowed in, threatening to sink the vessel?  No?  Then why are you allowing the current political leaders to open holes in our national borders?  Open for millions of illegals to flow in at their will, threatening to sink our beloved America?

And who is controlling the fate and health of YOUR America?  Is it an American leadership constitutionally elected by "We The People"?  Or has America become a nation whose destiny is under the thumb of our national enemies, i.e., China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, etc.?

Today I received the e-mail below from Hillsdale College.  Who is Hillsdale College?  Glad you asked:

In addition, revisionists in law, the media, and politics seek to change the Constitution, long-held customs of governance, and political traditions for short-term partisan agendas, on the theory that a new changing and fluid Constitution must match an always evolving human nature.

Globalism is an ancient challenge to the sovereignty of the nation-state.  But in the age of instant communications and unprecedented concentrations of globalized wealth, so often elites seek to supplant American laws and independence with international organizations and often without the consent of the legislative branch or the assent of the governed.

Bill Gray Note:  Beginning with Clinton, but becoming overwhelmingly blatant during the Obama administration, the Democrats have worked diligently to surrender all of America's sovereignty to the Globalist organization, the United Nations.  That threat began during the Wilson administration and World War 1 with the League of Nations - but was fully birthed and nurtured once the United Nations was allowed to share-crop on American soil.

The course ends, however, on an optimistic note that citizens still have it within their power to restore our traditions of empowered citizenship and return government to the control of citizens.

New Age Books ~ Know The Content, Not The Cover

New Age Books ~ Know The Content, Not The Cover  ~  How often have you found what appeared to be a great Christian book, only to find it was deceptively teaching anti-Christian beliefs and doctrines? 

About 30 years ago, Dory and I had a good friend, Mary.  Many times we invited her to church, but she always had an excuse.  We decided to buy her a good Study Bible to encourage her.

I went to my local Christian bookstore and found a beautiful Study Bible - but before buying it, I looked carefully at who wrote the study notes.  They were all from unbiblical "Name It And Claim It" - "Prosperity Gospel" - "Word of Faith Movement" preachers.  That Bible on the outside looked great - but the content of the study notes were poison to new or young believers.

Our daughter, Lana, was a Flight Attendant (domestic and international) for 18 years.  Often in a layover, she would go to the airport gift shop and browse.  Several times she came home with a book she found in the gift shop which, in all external appearances, looked to be a great Christian read. 

But when I began to study the content, it was not teaching Christian beliefs and doctrines.  I would ask her to give the book to me for my personal library - for I do have a section on New Age, Progressive Religions, World Religions, and such unbiblical books.

The English idiom "don't judge a book by its cover" is a metaphorical phrase that means one should not judge the worth or value of something by its outward appearance alone.  And that especially applies to books which appear to be Christian, yet teaches the opposite.

Our Early Morning Theology Discussion!

Many times over the years I have joked that while God matched us well, Dory and I have often been like two ships passing in the night.  Why do I say that?  Glad you asked.  I am pretty much a night person, while Dory loves getting up very early to read her Bible and pray.  Many times I have worked late on the computer and as I am going into the bedroom in the wee hours, Dory is coming out to get a cup of coffee, read, and pray.

Last night that worked out very well.  About 3:30 AM as I left the computer room and walked toward the bedroom, I noticed the light on in the kitchen downstairs.  Dory was up.  I went down and while she was preparing her cup of tea, we begin what I guess you could call a good Bible study discussion, but maybe more of a Theology Discussion. 

Our copy of the Grace In Focus magazine, published by the Grace Evangelical Society, had arrived and that began our discussion.  And I must say that I view this magazine as the best Christian theology magazine on the market - and I love the price. It  is free.  I look forward to reading every issue.

Let me just step back a moment and explain why I call it a Theology Discussion.  Three of the leading Baptist-flavored theologies today are the Calvinist on one end of the theology spectrum, the Arminians on the other end of the spectrum, and somewhere in the middle is the Free Grace Movement theology - which is closer to my position, but not fully.

I am not saying that folks who follow those theologies are not my Christian brethren, for a true believer is saved eternally - regardless if he/she believes in Calvinist Predestination, Arminian Loss of Salvation, or the Free Grace and their "dump the repentance" stance.

As Dory was getting her tea, I showed her our copy of the Grace In Focus magazine and particularly the first article "Why Do We Make It So Difficult to Be Saved?" by Dr. Bob Wilkin.  In the article Bob is responding to a question from a couple, Hal and Wanda:

However, I get Hal and Wanda’s point. Why would anyone in his right mind reject out of hand that one will spend eternity with the Lord in His kingdom if he simply believes in Jesus?  Shouldn’t people at least be attracted to that message?  Yes.  They should.  But tradition is a powerful thing. 

People learn to view the Bible and the condition for everlasting life in a certain way.  And that way makes sense to them.  It seems fair to them that bad people go to hell and good people go to the kingdom.

The (Free Grace) faith-alone message means that bad people can go to heaven when they die. Thank God it does, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

As I told Dory, "I can see where Bob is coming from, but in this I disagree on two points:  (1) Salvation/Justification without Repentance and (2) my definition of "bad people" must differ from his."

First let me address the Free Grace doctrine of "Faith without Repentance."  Free Grace tells us that Repentance is a "work" - and therefore negates the teaching of Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."    

And since they see Repentance as a work, that cannot be a part of Justification.  I agree that Baptismal Regeneration is not Biblical, for baptism is a physical thing one does AFTER believing and receiving Christ.  But since Repentance is spiritual and not a physical thing one does, how can one be saved without repenting?  To me that is like diving into a lake without getting wet.  It cannot be done.  So that part of the Free Grace theology I must reject.

Now to say that "bad people" can go to heaven when they die - we need to define "bad people."  I googled "bad people" and found this partial list:

Adolf Hitler - Joseph Stalin - Mao Zedong - Pol Pot - Heinrich Himmler - Saddam Hussein - Idi Amin

I would be very hard pressed to say that any of these guys are in heaven today.

But again, I believe that Dr. Bob Wilkin was really referring to "sinners" and not "bad people."  And in that sense, he is right, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

I believe Bob was thinking of issues such as homosexuality, abortion, adultery, theft, and other such sins.  And I have often written that the sin is not what keeps folks from being saved, it is the lifestyle.  A homosexual or lesbian can be a Christian.  But a homosexual or lesbian who is living that lifestyle - cannot be a Christian believer for that lifestyle is an abomination to God.

So, yes, a homosexual or lesbian who is truly a Christian believer and living it, will go to heaven when they die.  The Bible assures us of that.

Speaking of heaven, that discussion led to another problem in my mind.  For many years I have admired Dr. W. A. Criswell,
senior pastor of the First Baptist Church of Dallas for 50 years, twice was president of the Southern Baptist Convention, founder of Criswell College, and author of 54 books. 

In my study of Eschatology since 1991, I have two books which I consider my go-to books on the End Times:  (1) Dr. Criswell's book "Expository Sermons On Revelation" which was actual sermons in the pulpit which were later transcribed and put into book form, and (2) "The Revelation Record," by Dr. Henry M. Morris, which is a verse by verse walk though the book of Revelation.

Recently I have been reading a book co-authored by Dr. Criswell and Dr. Paige Patterson, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  The book is titled "Heaven" and was published by Tyndale House Publishers in 1994.

In this book, Dr. Criswell tells us that "They (believers) are not in the fullness of heaven, they are waiting in Paradise. . . The fullness of heaven will be ours when Jesus comes again (the Rapture) and our bodies are resurrected.  We will be like the Savior, in our immortalized, glorified bodies."  "Heaven," page 31.  And on page 30, Dr. Criswell tells us, "When a believer dies, he goes to paradise."  And he reminds us that in Luke 23:43 Jesus tells the thief on the cross, "Today you will be with me in Paradise."  

Yet the apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:8, "We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord."            

So I guess my question would be:  "Is Dr. Criswell saying that the believer stays in Hades / Paradise until the Rapture - or is he saying that, as I believe, Paradise has been moved into heaven - and is now Heaven / Paradise?"

Dr. J. Vernon McGee, in his commentary on Ephesians 4:8-10, agrees with me. Or I should say that I agree with him.

Jesus tells us what is needed to enter heaven:

John 3:3, "Jesus answered and said to him, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.' "

John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  NO ONE comes to the Father except through Me.' "

In Hebrews 11, aka, The Faith Hall Of Fame chapter, we read of many of the Old Testament believers, i.e., Abel, Enoch, Abraham, Sarah, Noah, etc. - who believed God.  But as we have just read from John, until Jesus died, went into Hades  / Paradise, and was resurrected - all believers from the OT and until the thief on the cross - had to stay in Hades / Paradise.  While non-believers were in Hades/Torment. 

In Ephesians 4:8 we read that Jesus led those Hades/Paradise believers into heaven - the first to enter into the Father's presence.  In effect, Jesus closed the door of Hades/Paradise - out of business - and opened the door of Heaven/Paradise. 

Since then, as the apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:8, "We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord."     The Lord Jesus is now in heaven, sitting at the right hand of the Father, and all who have died in faith are with him.

Now 2 Corinthians 15:50-53 tells us that mortal bodies cannot enter into God's heaven.  So we have to be in our glorified bodies.  This Scripture passage is speaking of the Rapture - so before the Rapture we will enter heaven in our spiritual bodies. 

And at the Rapture we will stand before Christ at the Believers' Judgment (Bema Seat) and will receive all rewards we have earned - and most important we will receive our glorified bodies that as we are told in 1 John 3:2, "Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is."  

What does it mean that "we shall be like Him"?   Jesus ascended in His glorified body - and we shall have a glorified body like His. But we will NOT be deity.  Only God is deity.

Therefore, in this respect I disagree with Dr. Criswell.  We will not go into Hades / Paradise since Jesus has ascended into heaven. We will go into Heaven / Paradise in our spiritual bodies.

How about the Calvinist Predestination?  Did God really condemn billions of people to eternal hell and suffering with NO chance of salvation - before the Creation?

Here, as in all Bible interpretation - I believe we must rely upon two things:  First, the Bible is the sole authority on all things of God and man's salvation.  Second, I believe that when man is interpreting the Bible, he must rely upon two things, (1) that the Bible is the LITERAL Written Word of God, and (2) common sense.

Knowing that the Bible is to be read Literally, we read John 3:16, "For God so loved the WORLD that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOEVER believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."               

To accept Calvinist Predestination, one has to interpret the word "WORLD" to mean "only those chosen as Elect before the creation."   And there is no way, using a Literal interpretation and common sense - anyone can change the meaning of world like that.

And WHOEVER means WHOEVER, i.e., everyone in the WORLD who believes in and has put his/her faith in Christ.

Looking at Arminianism's claim that some sin, even some small unknown sin, can cause a true believer to lose his eternal salvation - cannot be found in the Bible. 

John 10:28-29, "And I give them ETERNAL life, and they will NEVER perish; and NO ONE will snatch them out of My hand.  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and NO ONE is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand."
For the Arminian teaching that we can lose eternal salvation - ETERNAL must no longer mean "never ending" - and NEVER must mean "well, sometimes" - and NO ONE must not mean "NO ONE."

In other words, for the Arminian teaching to be true - that would mean that Jesus Christ lied to us.  Does anyone believe that Jesus Christ lied to us?  Common sense tells me that God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) cannot lie.

Therefore, in the Theology Spectrum, I cannot stand with either end, Calvinist nor Arminian.  So I am standing somewhere in the middle, beside the Free Grace Movement - but not with them on the "Salvation without Repentance" issue.  We are close, but not standing in quite the same spot.  That said, I read their Grace In Focus magazine from cover to cover the day I receive it.

And this Theology Discussion took Dory and me from about 3:30 AM to 4:45 AM - a really good Theological Bible study.  Now you know why God paired us 44 years ago - even if we do sleep on different shifts.

Congress Is Trying To Make Itself Greater Than God!

2.  That’s an egregious mis-characterization that understates just how radical the proposal actually is.

3.  The Act goes FAR BEYOND the already permissive regime permitted under America’s existing abortion jurisprudence.

The Seasons Of Our Lives ~ Revisited In 2021

In 2005, I wrote and posted the article below on the Sheffield (Alabama) High School Class of 1955 50th Reunion web site.  And, in 2010, I posted it on our Bill & Dory Gray Christian Ministries Blog site.   Coming upon it today in 2021, it seems appropriate to share with all my Friends - for we all are in a season of our lives.  

For some of my young Friends, it is still Spring.  For others, maybe Summer is in full bloom.  Or you may find yourself enjoying a relaxing Fall with the cool breezes, awesome colors of nature all around, maybe frequent strolls on the beach hand in hand with your life-mate. 

But Winter is coming and we all must be sure we are prepared for this rewarding season of our lives.  With those thoughts, please allow me to share my thoughts from 2005 with you.

THE SEASONS OF OUR LIVES

When we think of the four seasons:
Spring - Summer - Autumn - Winter
We can relate these to seasons of our lives.
However, I probably have a somewhat different perspective on that association than many people.  My wife, Dory, often asks me, "When are you going to grow up?"  And I always reply, "God willing - never."

Spring is when the young buds begin to sprout, tender and fragile.  But, nurtured and loved, those young buds soon burst into a beautiful, colorful life of joy.  That was us, the SHS Class of 1955.  It was the early 1950s at Sheffield High School in Alabama. We were young, full of life, bursting with youthful enthusiasm, ready to take on life with all our being.

Yes, Spring is a time when the new warmth puts life into our spirits and a spring into our steps.  Spring fever is not a myth, it is that time of year when we want to feel, to experience, to enjoy, to burst forth.

I recall a beautiful Spring morning in 1953.  I was sitting beneath that large old Oak tree that was on the lawn at Sheffield High School, feeling the sun warming my soul.  My friend, Roy Green, joined me under the tree and was also afflicted with Spring fever.  One of us suggested that a swim in the Tennessee River was a much better way to spend such a beautiful day, than sitting in stuffy classrooms.  So off we go in Roy's car, park on Montgomery Avenue, then with inner tube in hand, we walked down to Whippoorwill Hollow on the Sheffield side of the Tennessee River.  What a glorious day for a swim.
 
Being in high spirits, the decision to swim across the river was a natural.  On the first leg of our swim, from the Sheffield side to the Florence side, I paddled the inner tube while Roy swam.  Then on the return trip, I swam as Roy paddled in the inner tube.

Everything was fine until I was about twenty yards from the small cove where we had to go ashore at Whippoorwill Hollow.  All of a sudden, no matter how hard I swam, I could not move.  The river currents were too strong.  Looking up, I saw that narrow cove, that narrow beach, and everything beyond that was just sheer cliff.   If I could not swim into that narrow cove, I would be swept downstream where I would not be able to get out of the river.  I can only say that it must have been God who brought me ashore, for it was not my strength nor my swimming abilities.  Even then God was there for me, although I did not know Him at the time.

But Roy and I were in the Spring of life.  Small problems such as the possibility of drowning easily pass and are forgotten.   The next day, we were back at Sheffield High without a thought of what could have happened.  That is one of the symptoms of youth; the inability to learn from experience.

Then came the Summer of our lives.  We were all building careers, building families, running the race - not always sure where it was taking us.  We were in full bloom.  Watch out world, here we come!

My thoughts go back to the 1960s Broadway play, Anthony Newley's "Stop The World, I Want To Get Off."  I was fortunate to have had a third row orchestra seat to see the original when it was a new and sold out hit on Broadway.  And I will never forget it.  Newley's character, Little Chap, in this play was initially a young street lad in London, out to woo, win, and seduce all the girls.  He meets a young lady named Evie, the daughter of a leader of industry.  Seeing his golden opportunity, he marries Evie and goes to work for his father-in-law's company.

The play was sort of a comedy; yet it really made you think about life.  It was a comedy, yet it gave a better perspective on life than most dramas ever could.  Newley's character throughout the play was dressed in a mime costume - but this did not detract from the message.  Periodically, as life's pressures would build too high, Newley would walk to the edge of the stage, look at the audience, and announce in a high pitched voice, "Stop the world.  I want to get off!"  Haven't we all felt that way many times?

Now it was time for Dad to retire and for Son-in-Law, Little Chap, to take over the family business.  Newley's character was exceedingly successful in growing the company into an international giant.  In the meantime, Evie kept having babies - until at one time he tells her, "If only all of our plants were as productive as you!"

Autumn:  Newley's character becomes a world leader in industry; rubbing shoulders with world leaders, presidents, prime ministers, the top of the world.  And as he traveled around the world, he continued to meet and woo women in every country.  In the play, every female conquest in the various countries was always played by the same girl who played his wife, Evie - which lent an ironic twist to his affairs.  He was looking all over the world for love - yet each time he found it, it looked just like Evie.   Life is often that way.

Then came the Winter of their lives.  He and Evie retire to a rich resort island to live a life of luxury.  And Evie dies.  That was the scene when Little Chap walked to center stage, with a pathetic, defeated look.  In spite of the vast material wealth he had gained, you knew his life was empty.  That is when he sang the beautiful song "What Kind Of Fool Am I?"

Although it was in the 1960s when I saw this play during its Broadway debut, and later saw it again in Hollywood with Joel Grey playing the lead - I have never forgotten the impact this play, and especially this song, has had on me.

I knew that the good life I was living in California and in my many travels - my exciting career in the computer industry, the night life, and the parties - were just like Newley's character in "Stop The World."  Playing the clown and never finding true value in life.

Then God stepped in.  Actually, He had a beautiful Filipina lady named Dory step in, under His guidance.  And my life has never been the same since.  Praise the Lord!

Now, in 2005, my classmates and I are in the Autumn of life - and to me, this is an exciting time.  Gone is the youthful, mindless Spring of life.  Gone is the hot, often disastrous Summer of life.  And now we can relax and walk in the cool shade of the Autumn of our lives.  We can actually take the time to stop, to see, to smell the roses.  We can stare in awe at God's gorgeous display of colors as we watch the flowers bloom, the trees become many colors.  Life is in full display all around us.

And because it is now our Autumn, it is cool and pleasant to walk among and enjoy all of His wonders.  We are in the best season of our lives.  And I pray that you are enjoying your Autumn.  For it is His plan, laid out from time eternal, that you will have an exciting, exhilarating, wonderful Autumn of life.

Winter will come.  But I know you have given thought to that and have realized that Winter need not be an ending.  It can be the beginning of a new and eternal season with Him.  Winter is not a season to fear - if you have stored up your treasures with Him.  Have you done this?

If not, don't you think it is time to really consider your relationship with Jesus Christ?  For He is our promise of an eternal season.   Don't allow your Autumn to turn to Winter, without being sure of your relationship with Him. 

It is never too late - unless you allow Winter to take you before you truly know Jesus.   If you are not absolutely sure that you have a saving relationship with Him, that you have His assurance of your salvation - then I urge you, no, I beg you - take the time to seek and find Christ today, now.

Throughout all of these years, I have been privileged and thrilled to be your classmate, a part of the Sheffield High School Class of 1955.  I look forward to seeing all of you at our 55TH CLASS REUNION in 2010.  This time, God willing, I will be there - and so will you.

Now We Know The Truth Behind Biden's Afghanistan Debacle!

A SLICE OF CHINA’S LITHIUM BUSINESS LANDED IN HUNTER BIDEN’S LAP ~ Weeks Before They Handed The Afghan Treasures To China (CCP).

The information below was posted in a graphic created by Olga Lizarazo Glenn and shared by my hometown Friend, Johnny Clark, from Florence, Alabama.  From the Trump years we know that all campaign promises President Trump made, HE KEPT.  On the other hand, campaign promises made by Joe Biden - just seem to float away in the wind.

PROMISES such as:  Joe Biden said in December that “my son, my family will not be involved in any business, any enterprise, that is in conflict with or appears to be in conflict, with the appropriate distance from, the presidency and government.”  He promised during an Iowa campaign event in October 2019 that “no one in my family will have an office in the White House, will sit in on meetings as if they are a Cabinet member, will, in fact, have any business relationship with anyone that relates to a foreign corporation or a foreign country — period, period, end of story.”

Yet today Hunter Biden, and Old Joe by default, are still heavily involved with foreign companies - such as this one:  Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL). - where the Biden Family owns a whopping 10% share of the company stock. 

CATL records show that Hunter Biden divested himself of their stock.  BUT, a holding company, Skaneateles, still owns 10% of CATL stock.  AND, Skaneateles is owned solely by Hunter Biden!  So ALL the Bidens speak with forked tongue?

Now we know why Joe Biden was in such a rush to pull all American troops out of Afghanistan - even if it meant leaving hundreds, maybe thousands, of Americans stranded - along with thousands of our Afghan allies - behind Taliban Terrorist lines.

Folks, it is time to start Impeaching Joe Bide, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer!   AND, in the 2022 Mid-Term Elections - VOTE ALL Leftist Democrat and their comrades, the RINOs, out of office.  AND, it is time for America to establish a Term Limit on all in Congress, Senators and Representatives.

This is a must read.  The Bidens own 10% of a Chinese lithium ion battery company whose stock has soared almost 300% since Biden was "elected."   Afghanistan's biggest mineral (resource) is lithium valued at $1 trillion to $3 trillion dollars.   China was already in talks with the Taliban before Biden's Afghan debacle.

China (goes) in and takes over the lithium market - and the Bidens profit off all of this - at the expense of American lives.  It all is making sense now!

But, as (he) Washington Examiner reveals:

That’s despite White House press secretary Jen Psaki in February saying the president’s son “has been working to unwind” his 10% stake in the firm.

Through one of his lawyers, George Mesires, Hunter Biden had promised to leave the board of the Chinese firm by the end of October 2019, but his resignation was submitted to China’s National Credit Information Publicity System in the spring of 2020. 

Three Chinese business websites, run by Baidu , Qixin , and QCC , all show updates with Hunter Biden’s name being removed from the BHR board of directors in April 2020 - but the sites also currently show a limited liability corporation, Skaneateles, owned solely by Hunter Biden, as still being a “sponsor/shareholder” with 3 million yuan ($464,000) invested in the company, purportedly comprising a 10% stake in the China-based business venture.

The business records for Skaneateles found on the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs website list Hunter Biden as the “executing officer” of the company, and the address for the LLC is a multimillion-dollar home in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles. That is where the Washington Examiner previously reported Hunter Biden and his wife, Melissa Cohen, had been renting a $12,000-a-month home.  A report in June said Hunter had moved on from the rental.

Do You Believe That God Wants Believers To In The Political Arena - Or Should We Stay On The Sidelines?

Recently a Christian brother and Friend posted the declaration below on Facebook.  It is clear from his comment that he neither likes President Trump nor Joe Biden.  But, as I understand his statement, he believes that Christian believers should not be involved in the political process - merely accepting what the secular world throws at us - and standing with Roman 13:1, just keep quiet.

This got my attention for, not long ago, a pastor Friend told me that he feels I am too involved in and speak out too much in political discussions.  Yet it is my honest and strongly felt belief that God does not want the Christian believers to just sit quietly like sheep to the slaughter - while our faith, our families, and our homeland, America, are being destroyed by the secular politicians and world.

This is what my Christian brother and Friend posted on Facebook:

When I'm asked why I don't get so excited about this person or that person winning or losing an election, its simply because of what God tells us in Romans 13:1, "Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities.  For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God." 

God has instituted and is in control of all governing authorities.  That means a narcissistic prideful bully, an old geezer Liberal, and even a Liberal Californian who believes in science - were all placed in governing positions by God.  God's in control. 

That's why I don't freak out or cower in fear either way.  I certainly don't understand the why a lot of times, but maybe that's not for me to know.  God asks us to trust Him, as well as be subject to our authorities, not throw a temper tantrum when "our guy" doesn't win.

And I respond to his post:

That is true, but keep in mind that God also allowed Pharaoh to hold the Israelites as slaves. Then God sent Moses and Aaron to do battle with Pharaoh.  God did not tell Moses, "Don't worry about your fellow Israelites.  I am in control and they are still getting along okay under the Pharaoh."  No, God told Moses:

"Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt."  But Moses said to God, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?" .  .  .  .  Then Moses said to God, "Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What is His name?' what shall I say to them?"  And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM."  And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.' "  (Exodus 3:10-11, 13-14)

God allowed the High Priests and his money-changers in the temple - where they made great profit robbing the people who came to worship. Then Jesus Christ took a whip and drove the money-changers out of the temple (Matthew 21:12, Mark 11:15, John 2:14).

God does "allow" both good and bad leaders.   But God also gives us the knowledge and the abilities to have our say in the political arena.  Does God want all believers to just be submissive subjects to bad leaders?  Or does God want us, as believers, to be an influence in the political world?

When we have leaders who tell us that we should kill unborn and new-born babies - is that of God?
⁠
When we have political factions telling us that the homosexual lifestyle and same-sex marriage should be our societal norm - is that of God?
⁠
When we have political leaders and educators who are helping our children, without parental knowledge, get abortions, have sex altering procedures - is that of God?
⁠
When we have leaders whose goal is to create Racial Division in our homeland - is that of God?

Galatians 3:28, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

Colossians3:11, "Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all."

When we have political leaders and educators who tell us that there are over 100 genders, that God did not mean for us to be just male and female - is that of God? 

Genesis 1:27-28, "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply.  .  ."⁠

When we have political leaders declare that we must allow grown men to share the same bathrooms, dressing rooms, etc., with our young daughters - is that of God?

With all my heart, I truly believe that God WANTS believers to be involved in the political arena, that God wants Christian influence in our government offices.

Can you imagine a truly 100% secular government showing us how to live and how to raise our children?

I AM CONVINCED that voting and being involved in the political arena is not only of God, but I believe it is our Christian duty.

Biden Told Afghan President To Say Taliban Was Losing - "Whether It’s True Or Not!"

This blog may be a wee bit long, but believe me - IT IS IMPORTANT, to you and to all True Americans!  I ask you to read the full blog - and then share it.

JOE BIDEN AND HIS TEAM OF LEFTIST, KNEW THAT AFGHANISTAN WAS GOING TO FALL!   ~  Weeks before it happened, the phone call transcript below between Joe Biden and the president of Afghanistan is proof that they both knew, weeks ahead of the fall - that Afghanistan was going to fall to the Taliban.  That is why the president of Afghanistan "got out of Dodge" right away.

THEN, why didn't Joe Biden start evacuating Americans and our Afghan friends from the country three weeks before the fall?

Obvious answer:  Joe Biden did NOT care what happened to the Americans in Afghanistan, nor the Afghans who helped America for years.  To Joe Biden, all those folks were just "Collateral Damage" and not worth making a wave about too early.  

AND the 83 BILLION dollars of military equipment and technology left behind by Joe Biden was just a gift to the Taliban Terrorists.  And that is not considering the billions of dollars of secret technology that America surrendered to our enemy when it left that equipment behind. 

Immediately following the withdrawal debacle, news articles told us that China had already sent teams of their people to "inventory" the equipment left behind.  By "inventory" what the Chinese really mean is to discover billions of dollars of secret American military technology - which they would not have - if Biden had not given them this gift.

Folks, this man, his administration, and all the Leftist Democrats have committed TREASON against America and against Americans - and MUST be held accountable for their treasonous actions.

BIDEN TOLD AFGHAN PREZ TO SAY TALIBAN WAS LOSING "WHETHER IT’S TRUE OR NOT."

Just three weeks before Afghanistan fell to the Taliban, Biden told the Afghan President to say (the) Taliban was losing even if it wasn’t true.

Three weeks before the Taliban took over the Afghanistan Capital city of Kabul, the Taliban was making advances. They had already controlled about half the country.  Still, U.S. President Joe Biden told Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani to create the “perception” the Taliban weren’t winning, “whether it’s true or not.” 

In other words, he told Ghani to lie (to his people and to the world).  Reuters was allowed to review a copy of the phone call transcript, which they verified by listening to the call’s audio.  The transcript and audio was provided to Reuters under the condition of anonymity by a source who was not authorized to distribute it.

That was three weeks before the Taliban took over Kabul, and at the time, the terrorist group already controlled half the country.  Biden knew the Afghan Troops’ battle against the Taliban wasn’t working - but wanted Ghani to make it look successful anyway.

Much of the call was focused on what Biden referred to as the Afghan government’s “perception” issue.

“I need not tell you the perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things are not going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban,” Biden said.   “And there is a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture.”

Did Biden push Ghani to be dishonest so he could lie to America?  He didn’t want anything to ruin the victory lap he intends to take on the twentieth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, which IMHO is the reason he pushed through a disorganized evacuation that left behind "Americans and Afghans" we promised to protect - to suffer the revenge of the Taliban,

Afghanistan was promising a shift in its military strategy, to start focusing on protecting “population centers” – major cities – rather than fighting to protect rural territories.  Biden referred approvingly of that strategy.  He said that doing so would help not just on the ground, but in the “perception” internationally that was required to shore up world support for the Afghan government.

He wanted the Afghans to promote the new strategy:  Biden told Ghani that Afghanistan’s prominent political figures — including former Afghan President Hamid Karzai — should give a joint press conference that backed a new military strategy on how to defeat the Taliban, saying: “That will change perception, and that will change an awful lot I think.”

“I’m not a military guy, so I’m not telling you what that plan should precisely look like, you’re going to get not only more help, but you’re going to get a perception that is going to change in terms of how , um… our allies and folks here in the States and other places think you’re doing,” Biden said.

* * * He’s not a military guy?  Then WHY didn’t he listen to American military leaders regarding how to handle the withdrawal? * * *

On the call, neither Biden nor Ghani said the war effort was about to collapse.  But the fact they had this type of conversation three weeks before the collapse was an indication that they knew what was going to happen. 

Biden’s urging of Ghani to brag about a new strategy is proof that he was trying to be dishonest with the American people — not letting us know what was happening.  At the very least, it was an indication that we should have started to evacuate our citizens and allies three weeks earlier.  If we did, there might not be anyone left behind — not that his administration seems to care anyway.

My Friends, if we do not stand for our homeland now, very soon we may not have a homeland to stand for at all.  Joe Biden and the Leftist Democrats have been working for a long time to destroy America from within.  The United Nations and the Globalist have been working for the past 50-60 years to bring down America. 

Read your history, for the past 150 or more years, the Democrats have been working to weaken America.  They did it in Lincoln's day - and they are even more deceitful today. 

Almost 200 years ago, Karl Marx declared, and I paraphrase his philosophy, "To conquer a nation, there is no need for military action.  First, you conquer the minds of their children by installing the Marxist philosophy, i.e., Communism, Socialism, etc., in their schools - little by little.  Then those children taught Socialism would soon become leaders of that nation - and continue the transformation of that nation until eventually, the nation is no longer a free Democracy, but is now a Socialist, Communist nation."  

The American mind may be acclimated to "fast everything" - i.e., fast food, fast life, fast everything.  If we cannot have it within 1 or 2 months, or years at the most, forget it.   But the Eastern mind is just the opposite.  Their plan of action, their mindset, is designed to work over the years, hundreds of years if necessary.  They are patient.  But they always have an eye on you and your way of life.
 
In the late 1950s, early 1960s, when Segregation was being dealt its death blows in America and it was obvious that America would eventually become a nation of "One People."  Look at the motto on our currency:  E pluribus unum - Latin for "Out of many, one."   The Socialist leaning Leftist Democrats could not allow that.  So, in 1963, God and prayer were removed from our public schools.  No God, what's to stop Socialism?

Then, in 1973, with God firmly removed from our schools - the next step:  LEGALIZE ABORTION!  Legalize the murder, infanticide, of unborn and new-born babies all across America.  The Marxist Plan to remove God and install Socialism (Communism) in America was well under way. 

And when Donald Trump announced his run to be president - the Leftist Democrat really stepped up their efforts to divide America by RACE.  The Leftist began their big push to declare all White Americans as Racist - in their efforts to divide America along Racial, or skin color, lines.  The Leftist Democrats encouraged protests, rioting, burning, looting, even murder - to make the Racial Divide greater.

While President Trump was working to Make America Great Again - the Leftist Democrats were working to make the Racial Divide Great Again.

Except for the reprieve America had from January 1981 to January 1989, when Ronald Reagan was our president.  And again from January 2017 to January 2021 when Donald Trump was our president -  America has been marching headlong toward the chasm of Destructive Socialist Communism. 

Peaking in the Clinton years, peaking again in the Obama years, and reaching an almost unrecoverable point of no return under the Stolen Biden Administration - our American Homeland is marching toward great danger.

I ask several things from you which can stop this Leftist Democratic Sell-Out of America.  First, to all of my Friends who pray - PRAY FOR AMERICA!

Then, to all True Americans - commit yourself to becoming strong CONSERVATIVE AMERICANS.  I don't care whether you call yourself a Republican, an Independent, or whatever - just commit to CONSERVATIVE VALUES across our America.

Finally, do everything in your power to help President Trump prove to the Supreme Court of America that the 2020 Elections were stolen and MUST be overturned - and President Trump installed as the President of the United States.
